arcon at Arnold Glas trainee workshop 2018
This year, the company group Arnold Glas invited all trainees to participate in a three-day workshp. It took place in Magdeburg from November 7th to 9th under the direction of Nina-Nicole Leopoldseder, trainee instructor, and Albert Schweitzer, Managing director and member of the Group executive board at Arnold Glas. 32 trainees took part in the workshop and in a busy and diversified schedule: On the first day, a visit at EUROGLAS AG in Haldensleben was on the agenda, including a factory tour visiting the production site for float glass. "It is paramount to us that our Trainees have a holistic understanding of glass - and the production of float glass is a very Basic, yet also important part of that", explains Schweitzer.
But not only technical contents such as the production of float glass were on the workshop's agenda, but also the so-called soft skills. On the second day, the Trainees were instructed in proper business etiquette, courteousness and the importance of cooperating respectfully with colleagues and business partners. Furthermore, the trainees discussed in teams how new trainees could be won for the company group. The results and ideas were presented in front of the group on day three of the workshop. Aditionally, taking a close look at the trainees' possibilities of career development within the company group was another important topic on the last day.
Despite the busy schedule the trainees had time to also simply get to know each other better. During the joined dinners there was plenty of time to share their experiences, talk about topics of mutual interest and get to know the respective plants a little better. "Our workshops are not only supposed to be an opportunity for our trainees to learn more about the products and the technical aspects, but also a chance to boost the contact and the communication among them - I think we achieved both goals during these three days", Schweitzer sums up the workshop.
